The first half is when members deliver their prepared speeches and have them evaluated by a club member who points out what the speaker did well and how they could improve for their next speech.
The second half is mainly dedicated to Table Topics, which are short speeches given without preparation. A Table Topic Master comes up with a list of questions and picks a VETC member to answer a question. Due to time constraints, guests are not invited to participate in answering a Table Topic.

What Kinds Of Speeches Can I Do?
When you join VETC, you will be given Communication and Leadership manuals. The Communication manual contains 10 speech assignments. Each speech has a couple of objectives you are trying to achieve. For example, one speech may require you to use a prop. The actual speech topics will be up to you and you can take as much time as you need to prepare your speech. There is no deadline to complete the speeches but members who make the most improvements are the ones who work through the manual the fastest.
